The Spray-Away exterior hose system for your RV or boat lets you rinse gear, wash your boat or vehicle, extinguish your campfire, clean fish, and more. This eliminates the need for a bulky garden hose, which takes up a lot of space.
The unit's 15" hose is flexible and compact, and it recoils into the self-storing unit when it's not being used, even if the twist nozzle is still attached. The nozzle, which threads onto the end of the hose, has a consistent, high-pressure spray and an internal, leak-proof seal.
The swivel quick-connect valve on the inside of the unit makes it easy to connect and disconnect the hose. This means that you don't have to take the time to open any valves or screw on a hose.
This unit is compatible with standard RV and marine plumbing systems. Mounting hardware is included for easy, bolt-on installation. It should be noted that if you don't already have an existing spray unit, then first you will need to cut through the sidewall of your RV or boat. Sealant (sold separately) is required.
The Spray-Away features solid brass fittings and a sturdy ABS plastic housing. The polyurethane hose is resistant to both cracking and the effects of UV rays. The material of the hose makes it lighter, yet tougher than rubber or PVC.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Phoenix Faucets self-storing spray-away unit. This unit easily connects to RV and marine plumbing systems, and is easily-accessible from outside your RV or boat. The spray-away is designed to handle any job that shower-type sprayers can't handle. It's great for rinsing your gear, washing your boats or vehicles, putting out the campfire and can be used for many other purposes and applications. The unit's going to feature a really nice quick-connect valve. That allows you to easily and quickly connect the hose to the system. The unit does come with a 15-foot-long flexible coiled hose that can recoil back down to 12 inches.
It's a really nice design, again highly flexible, stretches very easily, again up to 15 feet long. It does come with a twist nozzle. It's going to come with your mounting hardware, and it's going to come with installation instructions to get the unit fully installed. With that nozzle it does offer convenient, high-pressure water spray. The hose is actually constructed of a durable polyurethane construction.
It's extremely lightweight, it's UV-resistant and it's more durable than rubber or PVC. It's going to have a diameter of three-eighths of an inch. It does store inside this unit, so that's what we mean by a self-storing or self-contained storage system. I'll show you how to get that in there towards the end of the video. We'll actually store it all away and show you that it does fit all nice and compact inside the compartment. It does store in the self-contained compartment to keep everything secured and it has a thumb latch mechanism right now, provides some additional security to the unit rather than just snapping shut.
The unit does comply with all applicable code requirements. Just keep in mind that this is not for drinking water use. A few measurements to go over with you real quick. The measurements right here, this is going to be the area that's visible from the exterior of your RV or boat. It's a square design that's going to seven and a half inches. Going this direction's going to be seven and a half inches as well.
When it comes to installing the unit, it's designed to install into a five and a half inch square hole and then it's going to extend approximately 13 inches into the vehicle. The overall length of the unit, measuring from the very front to very back, that's going to give us a measurement . pretty close to 14 inches. Somewhere between 13 and a half to 14, including the fitting here at the back. The diameter of the cylinder portion, this right here, is four and seven-eighths of an inch. You can see here that the mount holes go around the entire perimeter of that mounting flange. Again, mounting hardware is included and the heads of all those screws are going to be painted white to match the finish here of the exterior of the unit. The instructions, again it's going to come with detailed installation instructions. They do recommend installing a T in the cold water line and then attaching it to the rear of the spray-away using a half-inch NPT fitting. The connector at the back is a brass fitting. It's going to have an outer diameter of thirteen-sixteenths of an inch with an inner diameter of a half-inch. Overall, really nice design. When it's not being used, the unit simply fits in there and then if you have the nozzle attached to it, what you can do is just turn that down and then tuck it in and it'll fit in there as well. The nozzle just threads onto this portion here. It's got an internal seal for leak-proof performance. Goes on there nice and tight. That's going to create your high pressure. Then you got the quick-connect fitting on this end, just snaps in and that's all there is to it. When you're ready to disconnect, you just put a little bit of pressure on the housing, you push down and it's going to release it automatically. That's going to do it for today's look at the Phoenix Faucets self-storing spray-away unit.

I used this to replace a D&W Spray-Away Exterior Hose System. The prior unit worked fine, I simply needed the room on the inside of the trailer for battery storage. The new unit takes up far less space and I really never used the hose anyhow.
The new unit doesn't lend itself to being insulated inside the door. The old unit had more room for insulation inside the door. The hot/cold knobs are in the way.
For what it is, it's a good unit.
Easy to get install and worked good. Started dripping after a months use. But the cartridges are removable and I was able to install new washers. Worked OK through the rest of the season. Don't over tighten the taps when turning off, everything inside is plastic. Also I would suggest a set of shutoffs on the inlet hookups so it can be isolated for servicing. Be careful of the inlet check valves, they can fall out in pieces.
Works great. I use this item nearly everytime I use the trailer. From rinsing off outside the RV to washing the dogs with warm water.
